Vollmer Company in Hagen (Germany)

In the course of the years, complete mill upgrades, including the modification to hydraulic screwdown, strip thickness control systems (AGC) and strip shape control systems (AFC), have been added to numerous different strip thickness gauges, roll gauges and strip shapemeters.

Based on the partnership with our customers, our great experience and, of course, some good luck, such as excellent and motivated employees and important key customers, who helped us to develop and let us prove the idea of a partnership, we, as a rather small company with about 100 employees at the parent company in Hagen (Germany), play a recognized role in the world.

• Installation of some thousands of strip thickness gauges.
• More than 300 cold mills have been equipped with strip thickness control systems (AGC), often including the modification from electromechanical to servohydraulic screwdown.
• We have been one of the first companies to make shape measurements on the running strip. Meanwhile, more than 100 mills are working with Vollmer shapemeter systems.
• More than 100 roll grinders have been equipped with Vollmer roll gauges.

Special measurement tasks
We have a wide range of special solutions since we, as measurement and control technicians, frequently get special tasks that we always appreciate because of the high demands and the chance to learn something new ourselves. Recurring applications resulted from some "special tasks", such as the strip curvature measurement, the burr height measurement, the automatic steady rests and many other highly interesting solutions. We would like to thank our customers for their trust and we are looking forward to extend the wealth of experience with present and new customers.

Our partners and subsidiary companies in more than 30 countries are at our customers´ service. They are also in close contact with the parent company in Hagen. Many of our offices all over the world essentially are service stations to be able to help our customers quickly in their daily business. We know that the most sophisticated technical solution is only satisfactory if the production unit (from a mill to a slitting line) can produce reliably and consistently.
