ON-LINE ROLL MEASUREMENT

On-Line Measurement
Measuring the rolls during grinding offers the optimum chance to set the necessary close roll tolerances rapidly.

These fully automatic roll gauges are permanently installed on the roll grinder, measuring the roll profile, the roll diameter and the roll roundness during the grinding process. The transducers follow the track of the grinding stone / grinding wheel, providing the full information on the roll geometry at any time of grinding. The grinding process can be adjusted accordingly.

For the application of the gauge on large rolls that must be aligned in the roll grinder with some effort, an additional transducer is mounted on the carriage that measures the alignment of the roll to the grinder.

Correction Grinding
Many CNC controls on grinders afford a communication with the roll grinder control can be made and that data is used in an online correction grinding scheme.
